My Approach to Serving Our Community
Vernon has a strong vision for its future, shaped through years of community engagement and reflected in the Official Community Plan. My role as a member of Council would be to help build on that foundation by making thoughtful decisions, working collaboratively, and ensuring our community continues to move forward.
I don’t pretend to have all the answers. What I do bring is more than 30 years of experience leading complex projects, bringing people together, and helping turn vision into action. Throughout my career, I’ve learned that the best decisions come from listening, understanding different perspectives, asking thoughtful questions, and focusing on practical solutions.
The Approach I Will Bring to Council is Simple:

Listening
- Listen to residents, businesses, community organizations, Indigenous partners, and experts.
- Understand different perspectives before making decisions.
- Ensure residents continue to have meaningful opportunities to contribute as Council implements the community's vision.

Learning
- Build on Vernon's existing plans rather than starting over.
- Learn from other community successes and explore innovative ideas that may benefit Vernon.
- Make informed decisions based on evidence, sound financial stewardship, and long-term thinking.

- Bring people together to solve problems and move good ideas into action.
- Make practical, fiscally responsible decisions that strengthen our community for today, while planning for the future.
- Work collaboratively with Council, staff, governments, businesses, and community organizations.
